ANALYSIS OF FATIGUE IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN PALLIATIVE CARE

The aim of this study is to analyze the level of fatigue in children and adolescents in palliative care using the pedsFACIT-F scale. After approval by the Research Ethics Committee of Hospital Infantil Albert Sabin, under authorization number 4,899,192, this study was carried out. The initial step was to fill in the general data sheet, with the objective of identifying factors that could generate fatigue. Subsequently, the pedsFACIT-F scale questionnaire was applied and, finally, the data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel. According to the score of each participant, we can observe that four participants had low scores and three participants had high scores, with this, most of the sample are patients who have symptoms of fatigue. Children and adolescents with chronic diseases and hospitalized have fatigue, mostly without severe symptoms, but showing the need for multidisciplinary care.
