Editorial Flow
Initial Submission and Screening
After submission through the journal's electronic system, the manuscript undergoes documentary verification and preliminary evaluation (desk review), carried out by the editorial team.
In this step, the following are analyzed:
1. Adequacy to the scope of the journal
2. Originality and scientific relevance
3. Quality of the writing
4. Compliance with editorial standards
5. Similarity check
Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be rejected at this stage.
Editorial evaluation
Manuscripts approved in the initial screening are forwarded to the Scientific Editor, who evaluates their scientific consistency and editorial adequacy.
Then, an Executive Editor is assigned to oversee the peer review process.
Peer review
Manuscripts are submitted to peer review in the double-blind model, carried out by ad hoc reviewers external to the publishing institution.
The evaluation considers:
1. relevance and originality
2. Methodological rigor
3. Theoretical consistency
4. Quality of analysis and writing
Based on the reviews, the manuscript can be:
1. Approved
2. Approved with revisions
3. submitted to a new round of evaluation
4. Rejected
Review and final decision
Authors must respond to the recommendations of the reviewers and submit revised versions of the manuscript, when requested.
The final decision rests with the editor in charge, based on the opinions issued.
Editing and publishing
After final approval, the manuscript goes to:
1. Proofreading
2. Standardization
3. Layout
4. Streaming Publishing
Language and proofreading
When necessary, the authors are responsible for the translation into English and for the spelling and grammar revision in Portuguese, carried out by qualified professionals.
Processing Time
The average time between submission and editorial decision was 79 days in the 2024–2025 biennium.
The total time until publication may vary according to the complexity of the manuscript and the review process.
Review process
The journal adopts the double-blind peer review system, ensuring confidentiality and impartiality in the evaluation process.
Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the thematic area of the manuscript.
