The progression of Alzheimer's disease occurs with an advance of time making it irreversible and insidious affecting all cognitive functions in the elderly with the disease when presenting the first symptoms. This study aims to describe through an integrative literature review the phenomenon of the challenges faced in nursing care during the care provided to the elderly with Alzheimer's disease.This was an integrative literature review observing the concerns of the researched area, adding the nursing practices in which it was consulted through the VHL (Virtual Health Library) databases Lilacs, MEdline, SciELo, VHL and Pubmed. It analyzed 19 articles that addressed nursing care for elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and the challenges faced during care delivery.It was evidenced that training is increasingly necessary for this group where patients and family members need information. Emphasizing the importance of nursing professionals in this care to the elderly with Alzheimer's.
