Abstract

Objetive: This study aimed to understand the nurses’ work process and their experiences in the mobile PHC. Method: It was a qualitative study, involving 21 nurses from the Mobile Emergency Care Service of Fortaleza-CE, Brazil. Data collection took place from January to June 2018 through semi-structured interviews, whose results were submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: From the analysis, two categories emerged: The insertion of nurses in pre-hospital care: training and permanent health education; and Nurses’ performance in the pre-hospital care context: potentialities and difficulties. They highlight the relationship with the team and the support in continuing health education actions as potentialities, essential to develop multiple competencies. Conclusion: It is concluded that nurses are faced with barriers when executing their service that limit their performance in PHC.
