BIOSEGURIDAD EN ODONTOLOGÍA EN TIEMPOS DE COVID-19

Los protocolos de bioseguridad en Odontología se modifican y mejoran constantemente a medida que se realizan investigaciones. Debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, surgieron dudas sobre la continuidad de la práctica odontológica. El objetivo principal de esta revisión bibliográfica es describir los diferentes protocolos de Bioseguridad en Odontología adoptados durante la pandemia de COVID-19. La búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó en las bases de datos PubMed y Google Académico utilizando los términos: dental practice AND (biosafety OR COVID-19); COVID-19 vaccine AND dentistry; masks AND COVID-19 AND dentistry; personal protective equipment AND COVID-19 AND dentistry; mouthwash AND COVID-19 AND dentistry; desinfection materials AND COVID-19 AND dentistry. Los resultados mostraron que serían necesarios muchos cambios en los protocolos de bioseguridad y que existe acuerdo entre los autores al respecto. El cuidadoso seguimiento de los protocolos sería la mejor forma para que el odontólogo contribuya al control de la pandemia de COVID-19
