Abstract

To describe the experience of residents of the Family and Community Health emphasis in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a descriptive study of the experience report type, which addresses the view of Dentistry and Nutrition residents in a Primary Health Care Unit in Quixadá-CE, between March 2021 to March 2022. In consultations carried out by residents, it was observed that there was a considerable increase in food consumption during the pandemic period, mainly of simple carbohydrates, which can cause weight gain, a higher incidence of dental caries, and generate damage to the oral and general health of individuals. Given the experience acquired in the care provided, it was possible to perceive the importance of multidisciplinary care to provide comprehensive care to the patient. Having health education as its main tool is an important strategy in disease prevention.
