The present study aims to analyze and discuss the use of Living Wills in patients at the end of life. This is a qualitative review of articles on the subject, using the bibliographical research method. 3 studies were found in the SCIELO database, in LILACS 4 and in CAPES no studies were found. The Living Will is a type of document that aims to guarantee the patient that his/her autonomy is respected at the end of their lives. It is a right that arose due to bioethical questions when thinking about a good life and a dignified death in the face of the advancement of medicine and therapeutic obstinacy. Face to the absence of a specific law in the country, it is necessary to discuss the theme in the ethical, social, political, legal and civil spheres to advance patient autonomy and guarantee their rights.
