REFLECTION ABOUT BURNOUT SYNDROME OF DOCTORS IN PRIMARY CARE

Reflect on the factors involved in mental illness among physicians, with emphasis on the development of Burnout Syndrome (BS) in the context of Primary Health Care. Reflective essay carried out between August and October 2021, based on the experience of a doctor in a Primary Care formative setting. The literature evokes deviations from the work process that put the mental health of front-line professionals at risk. Thus, there is a need to restructure the training and work processes, focusing on promoting the health of the team with various resources that aim to reduce the burden. BS emerges as a public health problem and should be put on the agenda so that protective environments can be built for those who, taking care of the health of others, forget their own.
